Does PTA Membership Require Time Commitments?

No, it doesn't! Joining Wakefield Elementary's PTA can simply be your donation to improve our school. Of course, the PTA can always use some help if you want to volunteer!

Please take a few minutes to complete the second page of the membership form before returning it with payment.

How Has YOUR PTA Membership Benefited WES?

Historically, the WES PTA has focused on 4 areas:-

1 - Events to bring parents, families, children (and sometimes local businesses) into the school to create an environment of cooperation. (Fall Festival, Father/Daughter Dance, Mother/Son Night, Costume Bingo).

2 - Programs/Services for that benefit our children (cultural arts performances, Giving tree, Books by Me, Reflections, School Store, Yearbook, Third Grade Dictionary, Fifth Grade Celebration).

3 - Communications to facilitate flow of info from school/PTA to families (newsletter, website, Facebook etc).

4 - Fundraising to allow purchase of materials needed at the school (computers, Smart boards, document cameras, teacher grants for departments/classrooms, Book Fair for media center funding, playground equipment, etc).

PTA General Meetings

PTA General meetings are held four times a year. Although attendance is not compulsory, it is encouraged.

At the meetings, members are given an update on each committee. These include the budget, fundraising, past and upcoming events and volunteer opportunities. Perhaps most importantly, it is a forum for you to ask questions and to voice your opinion on how we can enhance our school support. Meeting notices are posted on the monthly calendar and reminders are sent our in the Monday folder.
