Join the PTA

FAQs

What is the PTA?

PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association. Through donations and volunteer time, the WES PTA helps fund programs, events, services, and equipment that are not available through the Wake County Public School System.

Why should I join the WES PTA?

By joining the WES PTA you are supporting our efforts to make ensure a better learning environment for our students.

How much does it cost to join the PTA?

For $10, you can become a member of our local, state, and national PTA chapters.

How long does my PTA membership last?

Your PTA membership is good for that school year. So if you joined during the 2020-2021 school year, it’s time to renew!

I have children in multiple schools. Does my PTA membership cover all of those schools?

Your PTA membership applies to a specific school. If you have a child at WES and a child at another school, you should join both/all PTA organizations.

If I join the WES PTA, does that mean that I have to volunteer or attend meetings?

NO. Joining the WES PTA is making a donation to the school. If you would like to attend general membership meetings or volunteer, there are plenty of opportunities to do so!

What do I get for joining the WES PTA?

By joining the WES PTA, you will receive weekly E-Newsletters that will keep you up to date on what is going on at Wakefield Elementary. You will also be entered into monthly drawings for gift cards, and more!
